Stuff happens. To err is human. Broncos John Elway believes in giving second chances on the football field … unless your name is Colin Kaepernick.
We all know the Broncos need a veteran quarterback, as insurance against injury to starter Case Keenum. But ask if Kaepernick would be a viable option to be the QB2 in Denver, and Elway gets testy.
“Colin had his chance to be here. We offered him a contract. He didn’t take it,” Elway said Thursday.
Kaepernick is signal-caller non grata in Denver and throughout the NFL.
He’s an outcast, despite the fact Kaepernick is the same age as Keenum, yet has produced more touchdown passes, victories and a better quarterback rating during his career than Denver’s new starter.
