Stand up, brother.
Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall took a knee during the national anthem. I respect his protest. I admire his courage. I believe he loves the United States of America. I hear his message. I applaud it.
I also want to extend Marshall a friendly hand of support, pull him off the ground before the next time we hear “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Broncos game, then stand alongside him in his campaign to ease racial tensions and improve the training for police.
After dropping to his right knee during the anthem when the Broncos played Carolina, Marshall got noticed.
