Keeler: When Drew Lock’s pocket breaks down, Drew Lock breaks down. Want to know why Teddy Bridgewater is Broncos’ starting QB? That’s why.

Drew Lock never saw (insert name here) coming.

I mean, how many times have we written that? How many times have you said that? Or thought it?

That’s why.

Hey, fill in the blank. Pick any name you like. The perpetrators change. The end result’s the same.

This time around, the guy doing the dirty to the Broncos was a big lug named Michael Hoecht, a second-year defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams. Ivy leaguer. Ohio native. Plays guitar and drums. Former calculus tutor.

With 41 seconds left in the first half of Denver’s 17-12 victory this past Saturday night, Hoecht used offensive tackle Cam Fleming as a turnstile before closing on Lock, from behind, at the Broncos’ 18-yard line.
