JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Kalif Raymond was admittedly anxious and full of energy leading up to Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. It marked his first NFL game.
There was no chance that the diminutive rookie receiver/returner would be eased into action.
His role, as the Broncos’ primary punt returner replacing the struggling Jordan Norwood, was pressure packed.
“Once I got hit the first time, it just felt like football and I can do football,” Raymond said. “It went well, but I want to take one to the house.”
Raymond didn’t score a touchdown but he did have the best day a Broncos punt returner had all season, with four returns for 40 yards.
