Justin Simmons was in a meeting last week when he got a text from Russell Wilson’s agent, Mark Rodgers, just a few minutes before news broke of the quarterback’s trade from Seattle to Denver.
Rodgers kept the message to his longtime friend short and sweet: “You’re welcome.”
For Simmons, the franchise pillar who has yet to play a postseason game through six years in Denver, Wilson’s introductory presser on Wednesday in Dov Valley gavee the Pro Bowl safety a chance to express his gratitude and excitement to be on a team that’s finally (and instantly) relevant again.
