DaJuan Morgan was a Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive back in 2008 searching for the right barber to give him the perfect wave when he stumbled into a local shop owned by Steven Watson.
Soon after, Morgan was a regular in the Watson family home for personal cuts. A classic barber-client relationship blossomed. Deep discussions. And often sitting nearby was Steven’s son, Josh, an energetic middle-schooler who dreamed of someday playing professional football.
“It wasn’t just a haircut when I would come over,” Morgan said. “We’d talk about life, football and goals.
