John Elway, as expected, did not reveal much about his upcoming NFL draft plans when he spoke to the media Thursday. The Broncos’ general manager even acknowledged his own use of the cliché that he will choose the best player available that fits his team, regardless of position, with each pick.
Elway also admits it’s tricky to predict how the draft will fall. But about a week out from the start of the first round, the Broncos’ management’s preparation is centered around concocting various possible outcomes in an effort to avoid surprises.
