ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A week out from the first round of the NFL draft, Denver Broncos president of football operations/general manager John Elway said Thursday that he’d be willing to take a quarterback at No. 5 or deal the pick if the price is right.
Several high-profile quarterbacks are expected to go early in the draft, and Elway said the team is still reviewing the prospects.
"We will take the best player (at No. 5) that’s the best for the Denver Broncos, whoever that is," Elway said.
Asked if that meant regardless of position, Elway replied, "Yes.
