Joe Flacco says he’s bringing more to Dove Valley than a big arm. Denver’s newest starting quarterback says he has a point to prove. To Baltimore. To Broncos fans. And to doubters throughout the NFL.
“I really just think that I am the guy,” Flacco, the Broncos’ new signal-caller, said during his first news conference at Denver’s Dove Valley headquarters Friday morning. “And I’ve got to go prove that I am.”
Flacco, 34, was acquired Wednesday from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a fourth-round pick (No. 113) in this April’s draft.
“Listen, I’m driven because this is what I love to do, I love playing football,” said Flacco, who has started 163 regular-season games over the last 11 seasons and was named the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII.
