Al Wilson is a part of Colorado football again, but with a new role and new team and, frankly, this is all a little surreal for him.

This past week, nearly a decade after he was last seen in a Broncos jersey, Wilson’s career as a Colorado football executive began. Project FANchise, which puts fans in control of professional teams, acquired the Indoor Football League’s Colorado Crush. Wilson is co-owner of Project FANchise and will assist in the ownership transition.

“With the way things ended here in Denver and this being the reason I’m coming back, it makes it all worth it,” Wilson said.
