Ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline, Broncos general manager George Paton made his first in-season deal last Saturday, acquiring outside linebacker Stephen Weatherly from Minnesota.
Might bigger things be in the works?
“I think there’s always more talk than action,” one league source said Monday morning.
Said a second league source: “It’s always been super-overrated.”
Not overrated is the Broncos’ struggles since their 3-0 start against teams who have a combined record of 4-16.
The Broncos (3-4 and 12th in the AFC) haven’t done enough to convince Paton he should be a deadline buyer; this team isn’t one player away from contending for the division title.
