For Josh Watson, active duty wasn’t a matter of if.
It was when.
“I trusted the process,” the Broncos rookie linebacker and former Colorado State standout said. “A lot of vets said, ‘You’re going to get called up before the season’s over, that’s for sure.’”
And they were right. On Nov. 1, Watson got promoted from the practice squad — along with rookie quarterback Brett Rypien — when quarterback Joe Flacco and linebacker Corey Nelson were placed on injured reserve, ending their season.
“I just kept my head down, was grinding every day, and getting the work in (during) practice,” said Watson, who’s picked up three tackles in three games this month heading into Sunday’s tussle with the Los Angeles Chargers.
