SAN FRANCISCO — As fans begin to flood into the Bay Area for Super Bowl 50, the NFL and law enforcement officials on Thursday warned of fake tickets and merchandise scams.
Dolores DiBella, NFL counsel, said to always buy tickets from authorized retailers.
"All cash transactions are incredibly risky," DiBella said. "So we're really encouraging them to not buy from any suspicious sources."
Legitimate Super Bowl 50 tickets carry several anti-counterfeit features. The front has a graphic background with raised metallic print. On the back, there is a "true color offset hologram," DiBella said, featuring the San Francisco skyline and the gold 50 logo.
