When the losing streak hit eight games, rendering the Broncos’ 2017 season kaput, the culture inside Denver’s home locker room lacked a championship vibe. Players at UCHealth Training Center sat in stalls organized by position groups. Broncos left to their own cliques to digest five wins and 11 losses.
“Last year, definitely, we were separated a little bit,” safety Darian Stewart said.
Year 2 of the Vance Joseph coaching era aims to squash that separation, and through seven training camp practices, change is evident with new assistant coaches, a new quarterback and an outpouring of overall optimism.
