How could the Jaylen Waddle extension affect Courtland Sutton’s future with the Broncos?

Denver Broncos’ wide receiver Courtland Sutton, coming off a 59-catch, 772-yard, and 10-touchdown season, is looking for a pay raise now that he’s the clear-cut #1 receiver for the team following Jerry Jeudy’s exit.

He is reportedly set to make around $13.6 million this season and wants a new contract that will pay him between $15 million and $16 million. On paper, without knowing anything about a team’s financial position, that seems more than reasonable. Yet, the Broncos’ financial situation, in which they owe QB bust Russell Wilson what can only be described as “Bobby Bonilla-lite” money, any kind of new contract request is going to be met with hesitation.
