Denver's defensive coordinator had high praise for Denver's rotational linebackers.
With starters Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan dinged up, backup inside linebackers Todd Davis and Steven Johnson have been getting more reps in practice this training camp. The two reserve players have filled in well, and they give the team excellent depth at linebacker, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said a week into camp.
"Our backup group is probably the best that I've ever had. I think a lot of those guys can play and have played well in practice," Phillips said.
