ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos have been drafting players since 1960. Here’s a look at the Broncos' best draft picks by position:
OFFENSE
Quarterback: Brian Griese, third round, 1998. Jay Cutler (first round, 2006) has had a longer career overall with bigger numbers, but he played just three seasons in Denver before Josh McDaniels traded him without a playoff appearance. Marlon Briscoe (14th round, 1968) went to two Super Bowls as a Dolphins receiver, but had just one season as Broncos quarterback. Griese was in Denver for five seasons, and the team made the playoffs once in a season when Griese was the starter -- 2000 when Griese was named to the Pro Bowl.
