BOCA RATON, FLA — A rule change will influence the Broncos' coaching. The NFL owners approved the elimination of all chop blocks, which have been used to varying degrees in the zone blocking running scheme that the Broncos favor.
"That definitely changes some of your teachings of your techniques," Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said. "The change would be in the box. It would be something that you have to deal with. We'll see how it goes."
The chop block, where offensive players high low a defender, became restricted in recent seasons before Tuesday's ban.
