HOUSTON — Patriots left tackle Nate Solder sat alone for a few seconds at his lectern in the right corner of Minute Maid Park Monday night. Most of the attention at the Super Bowl media night was shining on quarterback Tom Brady, head coach Bill Belichick and tight end Martellus Bennett.
But Solder might have had the widest smile in the room. He relished every moment.
Cancer has intruded into his life, but he, and his 18-month old son, Hudson, are going strong. The former Colorado star has gained a new appreciation for life, and football, through his trials.
