It took a lot longer than expected, but former Colorado State receiver Rashard Higgins heard his name called in the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round with the 172nd selection.
Higgins was the fifth receiver the Browns selected during this draft, including first-round wide out Corey Coleman.
It's the third consecutive season that at least one CSU player has been drafted.
Higgins — the Rams' program leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns — was expected to go in the third or fourth round.
