Former Denver Broncos player Montee Ball was arrested Friday morning in Wisconsin for allegedly battering his girlfriend, police said.
Madison police responded to Hampton Inn & Suites at 440 W. Johnson Street around 3:45 a.m. where a 20-year-old woman said her boyfriend, Ball, had thrown her, said Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain.
The woman, who has not been identified, said her leg hit the corner of a table during the incident causing a cut that required stitches, DeSpain said.
When officers confronted Ball, he said he pushed her.
"He was cooperative," DeSpain said.
Ball, who played at the University of Wisconsin, was arrested on suspicion of substantial battery and was taken to Dane County Jail.
