The NFL’s six-game suspension of Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott stemming from domestic violence allegations has been reinstated by a federal appeals court.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted the league’s request for an emergency stay of the injunction that was issued by a federal judge to keep Elliott’s suspension on hold while his case proceeds in court.
The ruling by the appeals court cleared the way for the NFL to enforce Elliott’s suspension immediately, barring further legal intervention. The Cowboys, who have a record of 2-3, are on their bye week.
