LAS VEGAS — Proponents of an NFL stadium in Las Vegas — including former Oakland Raider and TV analyst Howie Long — are trying to rally support for a plan to build it with $750 million in public money.
Long joined leaders from the Laborers Union, Caesars Entertainment and UNLV football for a news conference on Monday. The event also featured a tailgate party and cheerleaders from UNLV and the Raiders.
Speakers called the stadium an important opportunity for Las Vegas.
Gov. Brian Sandoval is expected to call lawmakers into a special session this month to consider financing a stadium and convention center expansion.
