Dynamics, make-up equal optimism for Broncos and new play-caller

He inherited an offense that has scored only 19.8 points per game over the last three years (fifth-worst in the NFL) and was generally mind-numbing to watch.

But that’s all in the past for Broncos offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello.

Coach Vic Fangio hired Scangarello to basically bring the Broncos’ offense into the modern age and stress defenses with multiple looks and routes and formations.

Six weeks after the offseason program started, Scangarello was asked after Saturday’s rookie camp practice what he’s learned so far.

“It’s a really good building to come into every day,” he said.
