The Broncos named Kevin Hogan their starting quarterback ahead of rookie Drew Lock for the Thursday night preseason opener. Starting quarterback Joe Flacco will not play.
Lock spoke with reporters on Tuesday after the team’s last practice at UCHealth Training Center before its matchup with Atlanta in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game.
On the emotions of his first NFL preseason game: “I’m just really excited to play against somebody else that doesn’t have a Broncos helmet on. You get to compete, get to see what the guys around you are all about and watch them go make plays because we’ve been grinding out here on the field, you’ve been in the meeting rooms, you’ve been eating lunch and breakfast with them and we all really want to see each other succeed.
