Deyon Sizer had never been so happy to carry the football pads of his teammates.
The rookie defensive lineman wrangled helmets in one hand and shoulder pads in the other this week at Broncos training camp simply thankful for a second NFL opportunity in Denver.
“I’m beyond excited,” he said.
Sizer, a Colorado native who starred at Eaglecrest High School and CSU-Pueblo, first signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in May after an impressive showing at rookie minicamp. The mood shifted in July, though, when Denver waived Sizer to create roster space for wide receiver Nick Williams.
