Broncos inside linebacker Brandon Marshall enters his seventh NFL season with a new look.
Slimmer, it turns out, can be better.
“I weighed in this morning at 225,” Marshall told reporters during Denver’s mandatory minicamp. “So since I started at (organized team activities), I’ve lost 11 pounds.”
The NFL’s evolution from power and strength to speed and finesse has changed the job description at inside linebacker, because as Marshall explains, “Tight ends run 4.5 (second 40-yard dashes).” Marshall finished the 2017 season with a career-high three sacks in addition to 106 tackles, four pass deflections and one forced fumbles.
