Denver Broncos team mascot Thunder missed his day as grand marshal of the 2017 National Western Stock Show parade when annual the march up 17th Street was canceled due to bad weather, so the gray Arabian is getting a second shot this year.
The Stock Show said Tuesday that Thunder, his owner Sharon Magness Blake and rider/trainer Ann Judge will lead the traditional procession of longhorn cattle, horses and Western wagons from Denver Union Station to Broadway at noon on Jan. 4.
“We are thrilled for a second chance to celebrate Thunder, not only as the best mascot in the NFL, but also as a symbol of our Western spirit and a representative of the equine community,” Stock Show president and CEO Paul Andrews said in a news release.
