Denver Broncos' special teams struggle early against Texans

HOUSTON — Special-teams coach Joe DeCamillis said the mistakes were correctable. He watched film of the Broncos' preseason opener at Seattle and, while hardly pleased with what he saw, believed improvements could be made in time for their second outing.

But their extra practice on special teams during the week may not have gone as far as he had hoped in Houston.

With three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Broncos had totaled only 78 yards on three kick returns, and only 8 yards on three punt returns.

In a surprise switch, backup receiver Corbin Louks started as the team's kick returner in place of Omar Bolden and gained 26 yards on the opening kickoff.
