While there may be many football fans who finally say "thank goodness" if news of a shortened preseason comes to fruition, there are many fringe players out there who would begin to fret.
The NFL and its players association are discussing the idea of reducing the preseason, possibly from four games down to just two. While this may take a couple of games off the schedule that many fans deem meaningless, these games are far from meaningless to those players down toward the bottom of the depth chart.
