The Denver Broncos are not taking any chances and on doctor’s orders, head coach Gary Kubiak will be out for this Thursday’s game against San Diego, and he’ll be replaced by special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.
This is a very interesting move by the Broncos, considering the fact that both Wade Phillips (defensive coordinator) and Eric Studesville have — at one time or another — served as a head coach or interim head coach in this league. DeCamillis filling the spot allows Phillips to continue to focus on attacking the opposing offense, and Studesville would have been a good candidate but the Broncos are confident in their choice.
