President Barack Obama on Monday commuted the sentences of 46 imprisoned drug offenders across the United States whose punishment, he said, didn't fit their crimes.
Katina Stuckey Smith, the mother of Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas, was one of them.
Thomas has waited 15 years to have his mother by his side again, to have her sitting in the stands of one of his football games. She will get that chance this season, as she is to be released Nov. 10 — five days before the Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs in a Week 10 matchup.
