On Monday, President Obama granted commuted the sentences of 46 imprisoned drug offenders across the United States whose punishment, he said, didn't fit their crimes.
Katina Stuckey Smith, 42, of Montrose, Ga., was one of them. She is the mother of Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas.
Thomas has waited 15 years to have his mother by his side again, to have her sitting in the stands of one of his football games. That can now happen this season, as she is to be released Nov. 10.
Obama on Monday announced in a video that each of 46 offenders whose sentences were commuted received a personal letter for him.
