David Williams selected by Denver Broncos in seventh round of NFL draft

With their final pick of the NFL draft, the Denver Broncos took Arkansas running back David Williams in the seventh round, joining Oregon’s Royce Freeman as ball-carriers selected by Denver this weekend.

Williams, who has a 6-foot-1, 230-pound frame, totaled 656 rushing yards (5.6 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns last season. Denver acquired the 226th overall selections after swapping fifth-round picks with the Seattle Seahawks.

Denver’s other draft picks were are North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick, Courtland Sutton (40th overall) in the second round, Oregon running back Royce Freeman (71st overall) and Boston College cornerback Isaac Yiadom (99th overall) in the third round, Penn State wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton in the fourth round (113th overall), Wisconsin tight end Troy Fumagalli in the fifth round (156th overall) and Arizona State offensive lineman Sam Jones (183rd overall) and Washington linebacker Keishawn Bierria (217th overall) in the sixth round.
