Sporting black, thick-framed eyeglasses, David Bruton accented his sculpted body with the bookworm look.
The Broncos' backup safety and special teams ace used his news conference appearance Wednesday to announce the start of his Bruton's Books foundation.
There's an assumption that reading time for most NFL players begins and ends with the X's and O's of a playbook. A substitute teacher during the 2011 NFL lockout, Bruton wants to help improve the literacy levels of Denver's youth.
"It's a world that's definitely full of the media, TVs and stuff," Bruton said. "Nobody actually sits down and takes time to read.
