C.J. Anderson stars in season-opening win, climbs Broncos’ record books

The eyes were on the quarterback, and later on the defense. But it was C.J. Anderson who starred for the Broncos in a thrilling season-opening win over the Panthers on Thursday.

The Broncos’ veteran running back recorded a total 139 yards (92 rushing on 20 carries) with both a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown.

The Broncos entered the fourth quarter in a 10-point deficit, but Anderson’s two scores on successive drives put them in front.

The first was a 25-yard touchdown off a screen pass, to bring the Broncos within three.
