Every now and then the NFL has a player so special at his position that when he retires he ends up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Champ Bailey will be one of those players. Champ even said so this week and it wasn’t even to be arrogant or cocky. He was just stating an objective fact.
“I objectively think I should be a first ballot Hall of Famer,” Bailey said on the Talk of Fame Network. “But it’s not up to me.’’
Bailey played 15 seasons in the NFL an was the league’s premier lockdown cornerback for half that time.
