When presumptive Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero arrives In Denver after celebrating the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl win, he will work alongside coach Nathaniel Hackett for the first time since 2007, when they were entry-level employees for Jon Gruden’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A decade-and-a-half later, Hackett and Evero are with the same organization and will carry the play-calling roles for the offense and defense, respectively.
Hackett and Evero were teammates at California-Davis nearly 20 years ago.
“A dear friend,” Evero said last week when asked by The Denver Post about Hackett. “He’s a helluva football coach.
