Broncos wide receiver Carlos Henderson has been suspended for the team’s first regular-season game for a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Henderson is on Denver’s reserve/did not report list for training camp while dealing with a personal issue. Broncos coach Vance Joseph said earlier this week that he had no status update from Henderson. Henderson’s suspension likely stems from a January arrest for marijuana possession in Louisiana.
Denver drafted Henderson No. 82 overall (third round) in 2017 and he missed his rookie season with a thumb injury. Henderson was previously expected to compete for a role as the Broncos’ slot receiver.
