Broncos rookie receiver Carlos Henderson tore a ligament in his left thumb and underwent successful surgery Sunday. Head coach Vance Joseph said Henderson is day-to-day with his recovery, but he will not suit up for the remainder of the preseason.
“It depends on the healing process, how he looks in a couple weeks before we know the long-term effects of it,” Joseph said. “Right now we’re not sure.”
Henderson was injured early in the Broncos’ preseason win at Chicago on Thursday and tried to play through the discomfort, but the injury affected his play.
Injuries have taken a toll on the Broncos roster, especially to the defense, which saw another starter go down in practice Monday.
