ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Usually it’s John Elway talking about how the Denver Broncos will disperse the checks. But the team is currently working on a contract extension for its chief football decision-maker as well.
Elway has one year remaining on a three-year extension he signed in 2014. It is the second contract he has signed since he re-joined the Broncos in 2011.
Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis said Monday, just after coach Gary Kubiak had formally announced his retirement from the team, he has had preliminary discussions with Elway about another extension.
