ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- In 2014, Michael Schofield was a Broncos rookie -- a third-round pick -- grinding away on the team’s practice squad, and he didn't get promoted to the roster or appear in a game all season. When Gary Kubiak and his coaching staff were hired this past January, one of the players Kubiak said he expected to have a far bigger role this season was Schofield.
As Ty Sambrailo closes in on his return from a shoulder injury, coach Kubiak said Thursday that Schofield will remain as the starter at right tackle, where he was moved into the lineup when the Broncos had to adjust for Sambrailo’s injury.
