The Broncos’ offense will get a boost in physicality and receiving Thursday as tight end Virgil Green said he will play at San Diego. Denver’s top tight end has missed the past three games with a left calf injury and the running game has struggled in his absence.
“I’m tired of waiting. I believe this is the week,” said Green, who had seven catches for 74 yards in his two games. “I’m excited to go play in California and be with my guys out there.”
Green said he felt like could have played Sunday vs. Atlanta, but the trainers and coaches felt like more rest would be beneficial for him to avoid re-injuring his calf.
