Broncos’ TE Jake Butt gets first NFL catch. “It honestly felt good to get hit.”

Kickoff neared Friday night at Fed-Ex Field when Broncos’ tight end Jake Butt made it clear in his own head. Enough with the preseason training wheels. Time to catch the football.

“It’s something pregame that I thought about,” Butt said. “I obviously wanted to get the first one out of the way.”

Of course, that’s because of what happened the last time Butt hauled in a reception during a live-game situation. A short Michigan catch out in the flat in the 2016 Orange Bowl, right before a Florida State stop tore Butt’s ACL.
