Quarterback Drew Lock and the Broncos stormed back from a 21-point deficit Sunday to beat the Chargers in dramatic fashion, 31-30, at Empower Field.
Lock connected with K.J. Hamler for a 1-yard touchdown pass as time expired to tie the game, then Brandon McManus kicked the game-winning extra point. Denver thereby avoided the first 0-4 home start in franchise history and improved to 3-4.
The storybook finish for Lock had an ugly start, and all the makings of a blowout by the Chargers, who for the fourth consecutive game blew a lead of at least 16 points.
