ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- John Elway continued with the theme of toughness, versatility and athleticism Saturday, selecting more prospects who didn't just focus on football.
A day after selecting a right tackle (Ty Sambrailo) who was a competitive junior skier and a tight end (Jeff Heuerman) who was an elite youth hockey player, Elway grabbed two players who also were track and field athletes.
Fourth-rounder Max Garcia, an O-lineman from Florida, threw the shot put and discus in high school. Tulane cornerback Lorenzo Doss, selected in the fifth round, was a sprinter for the Green Wave.
