The Broncos on Friday signed veteran long snapper Thomas Gafford and waived nose tackle Darius Kilgo to clear a roster spot. First-year long snapper Casey Kreiter is week to week with a calf injury and is expected to miss Sunday’s prime-time game against the Chiefs.
Gafford, 33, has played with five different teams since signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2006. His longest stint (105 games) was with the Kansas City Chiefs, from 2008-14. Last season he played 11 games with the Chicago Bears before closing out the year with Oakland. The Raiders signed him last December after Jon Condo was injured in their win over the Broncos.
