The ninth-year veteran appeared in 14 games and totaled five sacks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017.
The 6-foot-2, 297-pounder spent the previous four seasons with the Bucs, for whom he started 34 games.
McDonald has also made an impact off the field. He was named the Buccaneers’ Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee in 2017 for his work in the community. And in the locker room, he repeatedly impressed his teammates and coaches.
“Clinton McDonald, I think, is a perfect teammate,” Buccaneers defensive coordinator Mike Smith said. “We talk about his ability on the football player on the defensive line.
