Broncos safety Kareem Jackson named AFC defensive player of the week after dominating his former team, the Texans

After dominating his former team on Sunday in Houston, Kareem Jackson was named AFC defensive player of the week, the first Broncos player to take home the honor this year.

Jackson, who played his first nine NFL seasons for the Texans, totaled a career-high tying 11 tackles, an interception and had a 70-yard fumble return for a touchdown in Denver’s 38-24 upset win at NRG Stadium.

The safety became the third player in NFL history with at least 10 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in a single game.
