The Broncos signed former East Carolina cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian as an undrafted free agent back in 2022. The ball-hawking cornerback made enough of an impression that he was signed to the Broncos practice squad and then activated to the 53-man roster during the season finale. He flashed some potential which made him an underrated name to watch as a potential breakout candidate in 2023.
McMillian started off hot and was turning heads during the OTA and minicamp practices and carried that momentum into training camp and the preseason. His play earned him a spot on the Broncos' 53-man roster and eventually the starting slot cornerback job as the season progressed.
